Silicone Surfactant
|
L-6900 is non-hydrolyzable silicone copolymer
specifically developed for use in rigid foam |
formulations incorporating reduced levels of auxiliary
blowing agent; for example, high-water/reduced CFC-11
systems. It is the surfactant of choice for moderately
reduced CFC-11 systems. However, since the performance
of this silicone is determined in large measure by the
nature of the formulation(polyols, catalysts and CFC-11
usage levels, etc.), this catalyst should be considered
for all formulations using reduced levels of auxiliary
blowing agent.
|
Silicone L-6900 produces rigid polyurethane foams
having a narrow distribution of small, |
fine, closed cells that contribute to excellent k-factor
performance. In addition, the product provides excellent
flow performance in these systems.

|
L-6900 is a premium product that offers
superior performance in refrigeration
pour-in-place |
|
and slabstock applications. A starting concentration
of 1.5 parts by weight per 100 parts of polyol
is recommended. However in many instances,
the preferred use level of this material is
2.0 to 2.5 parts by weight per 100 parts of
polyol. |
