Silicone Surfactant
|
L-5420 was developed for use as a general purpose
surfactant for most rigid foam |
formulations and shoe soles applications. L-5420 has been
demonstrated to provide excellent cell control and to
effectively compatibilize rigid foaming ingredients. It
is soluble in most rigid polyols and will make clear stable
premix. It should not be added to isocyanate.
|
L-5420 can be used in formulations such as refrigeration,
pour-in-place, slabstock, froth, |
spray, and continuous laminate boardstock with excellent
results. It can be used to stabilize formulations where
a polyol soluble product is desired and inadequate. With
increased emphasis on foam production costs, it can lower
inventory costs by performing in most rigid foam formulations.

The optimum concentration of L-5420
depends on many variables, such as formulation
|
|
ingredients, type of application, or mold
complexity. A starting concentration of 1.0
parts by weight per 100 parts of polyol is
recommended. In some formulation, this recommended
use level may need to be increased. The best
loading should be determined using each specific
formulation and type of equipment. |
